I love making great pictures - it's something which I've always been passionate about, and to be honest I'd do it even if I wasn't paid to - just don't tell my clients that! I guess that's what the late great Eve Arnold meant when she always maintained that she was an amateur photographer - certainly not in the standard of her work but in her approach to the work, and to keeping that exhilarating energy that pushed you to learn and discover the craft in the first place.
It's certainly what pushes me to carry on discovering and creating, and probably why I always have at least three personal projects on the go alongside my commercial work, and why I'm always dragging a tonne of equipment half way round the world. And it's always what keeps me fresh and on my toes, and able to look at each new job with the same vigour yet a new eye, and it's why I'm always energised to give all of my focus and effort on each and every job.
I also love being active - whether that's cycling, swimming, Bikram yoga or running - and find that it all feeds into giving me more energy for my work, which is often an essential ingredient for a successful shoot - whether it's running to the top of the hill to get a better shot or bending myself into yet another contorted tangle in the studio to get just the right angle!
I'm able to listen to clients needs, work with demanding briefs, and deliver to impossible deadlines within tight budgets!
I have a studio overlooking the Regents Canal in London and also spend around 50% of my time on location either in the UK or further afield.
